Green light for a prestigious project in Almtal

As general contractor, we are building the new Open Science Center for the University of Vienna in the Grünau Wildlife Park in Almtal. By spring 2026, a modern seminar and education center will be created—a lively interface between science and the public. The project stands for regional quality, sustainable construction, and architecture that blends respectfully into the landscape.

Sustainable timber construction that blends in with the landscape

The building will be constructed using prefabricated timber and will feature rough-sawn larch cladding sourced locally. These materials ensure a durable, ecological, and aesthetically pleasing appearance that blends harmoniously into the natural surroundings.

Planning with experience and foresight

The plans were drawn up by the Kaindl architectural firm (Gmunden) and follow on from the Konrad Lorenz Research Center, which we successfully completed in 2019/20. This proven partnership stands for functionality, quality, and reliability in meeting deadlines—from the initial idea to the turnkey handover.

Rooted in the Almtal valley – built for the future

As a family business with roots in the Almtal valley, we are proud to be realizing this forward-looking project in our home region. With regional partners, short distances, and clear responsibilities, we are creating a place where research, education, and the public come together.
