Our company history

Since 1966, our family business has developed from a silo manufacturer into an international specialist. Today, we combine a wide range of products with numerous European branches and reliable solutions for industrial and agricultural customers. The most important milestones in our development are listed below.

1966

Establishment of WOLF Systembau
The foundation of the WOLF System group was set by Johann Wolf who established the WOLF Systembau GmbH at the inherited farm (Dickermanngut) in Scharnstein. Goods, reinforced concrete tanks and silos for agriculture were the first products which will form an important and successful component of our company.

1968

WOLF in Germany
Founders of a company in Munich were the first activity outside of Austria. From the new sales- and planning office, reinforced concrete tanks and silos are built.

1974

WOLF in France
A new international step is set with the new company in Leutenheim in Elsass.

Prefabricated houses as new sector

New location in Bayern
After buying a timber construction company in Osterhofen the company in Munich moves there.

Establishment of WOLF System SRL in Freienfeld near the Austrian boarder to Italy.

WOLF in Switzerland
Establishment of WOLF System AG in Rüthi near the Austrian boarder to Switzerland as well.

1990er

Years of expansion
Even more locations in Czechia, Poland, Slovakia, France, Berlin, Russia, Tenerife and Croatia are founded.

Development and expansion
Development and expansion of the prefabricated houses sector in Germany, Italy, Czechia, the prefabricated houses and timber construction in Scharnstein as well as the production locations in Poland and Hungary.

40th anniversary and WOLF in Lithuania
40 years of WOLF System – construction of the new administration building with “ Competent-centre” in Scharnstein. Establishment of WOLF System UAB in Siauliai, Lithuania.

2007

WOLF in Latvia
Establishment of WOLF System SIA in Cesis, Latvia.
Construction of the new contractor´s studio and expansion of the steel processing at WOLF System GmbH in Osterhofen, Germany. Repeated recognition of WOLF house wit the German prefabricated house prize “ golden cube “.
Acquisition of the Austrian tank construction company Lehner Landwirtschaftsbau GmbH & Co KG.

2008

WOLF in Rumania
Founding of WOLF System SRL in Arad, Rumania. Expansion and adaptation of the administration building at WOLF System GmbH in Osterhofen, Germany.

WOLF in Russia
At the Detchino site, Russia, the construction of a new administration building with production plant for steel- and wood processing began.

2010

WOLF in Slovenia and Spain
Founding of the WOLF SISTEM d.o.o. near Maribor, Slovenia. Founding od the WOLF System-Construcción Técnia S.L.U. in Barcelona, Spain.

Years of Investments
Opening of the new prefabricated houses production at WOLF System GmbH , Osterhofen, Germany. Wolf connexion S.a.r.l., Limay, France builds a new administration building and warehouse. New construction of an office building at Wolf AG in Rüthi, Switzerland. Founding of Edinolichnoye, Belarus as a subsidiary of Wolf System SIA, Latvia.

2012

WOLF in Estonia and Ukraine
Wolf system SIA, Latvia, sets up a subsidiary ( WOLF System OÖ ) in Estonia. Founding of the Wolf System TOV in Kiew, Ukraine. Wolf System SRL, Italy opens a neu office building with Prototype centre and model house at the company site in Freienfeld near Sterzing, Italy. New construction of a central magazine at the Scharnstein site, Austria.

First model house in Poland
Opening of the first model house in Poland at the WOLF System Sp.z.o.o. in Siemianowie, Slovakia.
Expansion of the steel processing at the site of WOLF System GmbH, Osterhofen, Germany.
Founding of 000 WOLF HOUSE SIBIR in Russia.

New office building at the WOLF System site in Hungary. Huge preparing investments at WOLF Italy for a prefabricated house production. Investing in trimming plants and with that in productivity at WOLF System in Austria.

50th anniversary
Unbelievable crowds at the festival weekend, 50 years WOLF in Scharnstein. Around 20.000 visitors at the site in Scharnstein.
Complete renovation for the production line for prefabricated houses and thus the most modern production in Austria at WOLF in Scharnstein.
Additional production facility at WOLF System in Germany for the production of wood panel walls in industrial and commercial construction.

2017

New prefabricated house productions
Expansion of prefabricated house production at WOLF Systembau in Austria with roof element production, trimming facilities and visitors´ platform. Commissioning of the fifth prefabricated house production facility of the WOLF company in Italy.

2018

50th anniversary WOLF Germany
WOLF Germany is celebrating it´s 50th anniversary with a three day festival and many attractions at it´s location in Osterhofen. Laying off the foundation stone for expansion openings through large-scale land purchase in Osterhofen.

At the Scharnstein site, the energy related infrastructure is being completely renovated and 2 new model houses are being opened in the model house parks.

2019

New central building in Scharnstein
New construction of a central building at the Scharnstein site. This house is a charging station for electric forklift batteries, attractive office space and a canteen for employees.

Preparatory measures in Osterhofen for the automation and expansion of steel construction production.

2020

30 years of WOLF Poland
In 2020, WOLF Poland celebrated its 30th anniversary with around 200 employees.

In March, the Stolpen (Germany) branch moved into its new office and social building. In addition, a new production hall with almost 6,000 m² of floor space was completed on the Osterhofen factory premises.

2021

The “Dickermanngut,” the childhood home of our company founder Johann Wolf, has been renovated with great attention to detail.

At the Osterhofen site, another production hall has been built, specially designed for aluminum production and occupational safety—with a focus on testing nets, straps, slings, and assembly aids.

WOLF expands into North America
A new branch has been established in Canada near Ottawa—an important step for our international presence and growth.

2023

Brand relaunch
The Group was given a fresh, uniform image: a new brand identity with a modern logo for all branches strengthens our shared identity.

WOLF Slovakia also celebrated its 30th anniversary with around 150 guests.

2024

New WOLF Museum
The new WOLF Museum is being built in the historic “Dickermanngut” estate. Here, the company’s history from its beginnings to the present day comes to life, combining tradition and modernity in a special place.

WOLF Austria is also setting new standards in modern living: three tiny model houses have been opened at the Scharnstein site – innovative living concepts for the future.
